Description: Using Botticelli’s painting “Man of Sorrows” as inspiration, I decided to make a piece that explored the thin line between some people’s pain and pleasure. Using old iconography like the arma Christi, juxtaposed with modern bondage wear (the gimp mask), the viewer is forced to confront the idea of pleasure that might come with intentional pain.
